It will cover some basics of the Boy Scout Program, how to register with the troop,
what yearly costs are involved, how the troop operates, qualifications of it's adult leadership, and what we have to offer
you!
The Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg (P.A.L.), as part of its efforts to serve
the youth of our community, sponsors a Boy Scout Troop. Scouting not only provides youngsters with an opportunity to
learn new skills, but it also provides them with the opportunity to interact with others their own age in a drug free and
violence free environment. Another major benefit of scouting is the opportunity it presents to young men to associate
with adults who are positive role models. Our troop, B.S.A. Troop #312, is fortunate to have four police officers and
several dedicated parents among its adult leaders. All the adult leaders donate a great deal of personal time to ensure
the success of our troop.
We are planning many exciting adventures for this year. In
addition to monthly campouts, the troop also participates in many other events such as the Bay Pines Veterans' Day Parade,
P.A.L. Bicycle Safety Rodeo, and other community service projects. Through attending the troop meetings and outings,
the scouts learn many outdoor skills such as rappelling & climbing, cooking, swimming, water skiing, archery, rifle shooting,
mountain biking, and first aid.
We invite you to visit us at one of our weekly
meetings. Our leaders are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the organization and how you can
join.

In addition to the scout obeying the Scout Oath
& Scout Law, our Troop expects the scout to regularly attend Troop meetings and outings, have a genuine interest in Scouting,
and want to learn through Scouting. We also require that the scout behave as a law-abiding citizen. We are sponsored
by the Police Athletic League and several of our adult leaders are police officers, therefore we will not tolerate delinquent
or criminal behavior either during scouting functions or when the scout is away from the Troop (including at home, school,
etc.)
